L. Scribonius Libo, 62 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 4.00 g, 6 h), Rome. BON•EVENT / LIBO Diademed head of Bonus Eventus to right. Rev. PVTEAL / SCRIBON Garlanded Puteal Scribonianum (Scribonian wellhead), decorated with two lyres; at base, hammer. Babelon (Scribonia) 8. Crawford 416/1a. RBW 1500. Sydenham 928. A nicely toned example, sharp and attractive. A few faint marks and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of Kurt Zimmermann (* 1937) of Winterthur, long-serving numismatist at Schweizerische Kreditanstalt and Leu Numismatik, privately acquired from Schweizerische Kreditanstalt in May 1973, reportedly previously acquired from Münzen & Medaillen AG.
